Balladen tycks vara en efterföljare till den Nordiska riddardiktningen. Den sprang fram under och spriddes under den tidiga medeltiden. Ungefär vid 1300-talets mitt. Och kan höras ännu i dag av trubadurer.

 

Som allting nytt, så var balladen i början förbehållen de rika och mäktiga, men med tiden blev den det vanliga folkets största nöje; Jonglörer och lekare kunde försörja sig på att fara runt landet från landsbygd till storstaden och sjunga de senaste balladerna och kväda populära nidvisor.

 

Här följer två korta exempel på visor som kunde höras från några kringflackande lekares vagn:

Ordet ballad kommer från det italienska ordet balare vilket betyder dansa. Ofta betyder det dans till sång-sångdans-i långa linjer eller stora ringar medurs. Balladdansandet har även rötter i det tidiga medeltiden, och har in på 1900-talet funnits kvar framförallt på Färöarna.

Musiken till balladdansen är också sjungen – långa sånger med ibland över hundra verser. Texten sjungs av en försångare medans alla stämmer in i omkvädet.

Herr Peder han gångar sej i kammaren in

Ej heller bli slagen ute i krig
Men akta dej väl för böljorna de blå
Att de ej må förkorta ditt liv!”

” Ja nog ska jag akta mej för böljorna det blå
Att de ej må för korta mitt liv
Jag ska bygga mej ett skepp utav lättaste kork
Med master av valfiskens ben.”

Men när de hade seglat i fyra hundra dygn
Då började skeppet till att slå
Då bådo de alla till Herren vår gud
Att de någon hjälp skulle få.

Kaptenen han var en förståndiger man
Han talade förståndiga ord
Han sade: “Låt oss kasta gulltärningen ombord
Så får vi se vem största synden haver gjort!”

Första (andra, tredje) gulltärningen på tavelbordet rann
Bland dessa de sjöfarande
Och lotten den föll på Herr Peder första (andra, tredje) gång
Vår älskade konungason.

“Ja är det jag som största synden haver gjort
Bland dessa de sjöfarande män
För kyrkor har jag plundrat och kloster har jag bränt
Och små flickor har jag narrat och skänt.

Om någon utav eder skulle komma iland
Och min fästmö hon frågar efter mej

Så togo de Herr Peder i hans guldgula hår

Personer & instrument

Greta Nateberg, ”Naterbergskan”, 1772 – 1818  - ryktbar sångerska hos vilken traktens ungdomar samlades för att sjunga, leka , dansa och lyssna på hennes visor. Efter henne finns 25 ballader och flera sånglekar

Maja Hansdotter, ”Månssan” 1756 – 1828 – ryktbar o egensinnig balladsångerska. Efter henne finns 17 ballader.

Johan Haquin Wallman 1792 - 1852 Kyrkoherde i Slaka, fornforskare, skolreformator. Upptecknare av både instrumental och vokal folkmusik, har upptecknat visorna efter Slaka-sångerskorna.

Carl-Erik Södling 1819-1884  musiklärare och upptecknare som var i Slaka och hittade (kanske köpte) och ritade av Slaka-fiolen, en fin understrängad fiol.

Fioler med understrängar var något Södling mindes från sin barndom, och han letade som vuxen i flera år efter att åter få se en sådan. Till slut fann den i Slaka. Finns den kvar, tro?

Beaucoup de races de chevaux existent en France comme partout dans le monde et nous allons les diviser en trois catégories :

- Les chevaux de selle : ce sont des chevaux destinés à être montés par des cavaliers ; il en existe aussi deux sortes : les chevaux de selle à sang froid et les chevaux de selle à sang chauds.
